We have said it millions of times before, but the key to healthy glowing skin is hydration. It’s best to hydrate from the inside out, but tap water can be boring and that won’t motivate you to drink up. We wanted to share with you some of our favourite herbal teas, perfect to warm you up this winter and hydrate you at the same time.
Chamomile tea is known for it’s relaxing properties, and as stress does affect your skin it is perfect for calming your skin as well as your mind. It has anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties, so it is particularly beneficial for those with sensitive skin prone to irritation.
Like chamomile, lemon balm tea has calming effects and is often used for anxiety, sleep problems and restlessness. It’s great for getting you off to the land of nod, meaning your skin will look less tired because you have had your well-deserved beauty sleep.
Linden blossom tea protects skin against the signs of aging, promotes relaxation, detoxifies the body and lowers blood pressure. It’s an overall good tea for a healthy mind and body.
Green tea has amazing anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties, so it is really good for relieving acne and sore skin. It’s also been shown to improve blood flow and lower cholesterol, so could help to prevent a range of heart-related issues as well.
Rosehip tea is not only refreshing; it is perfect for healing and rejuvenating the skin. It contains antioxidants that are vital for a healthy immune system as well as anti-aging properties.
Thyme tea is great for the skin as it’s full of vital vitamins and is a great immune system booster, which is especially helpful for the winter months. It’s beneficial for acne and is filled with essential minerals and vitamins that are required for good health.
Most herbal teas are caffeine free, which is another thing that isn’t good for your skin. So ditch the coffee and have a deliciously healthy pick-me-up instead.
